10 cases underwent endarterectomy and patch angioplasti tor carotid artery stenosis between 1990-1992. The ages of cases ranged between 46-72, female/male ratio was 3/7. Ali of the cases had symptoms of cerebral ischemia. Color flow doppler echo and digital substraction angiography were performed at all cases, coronary angiography was added at one tor coronary artery disease. Carotid endarterectomy and patch angioplasty was performed at ali cases. At one case aortacoroner bypass operation was performed at the same time. Javid shunt used in all operations regard less of retrograde carotid artery pressure. Except tor a transient hemiparesy there were no early or late complication and the patients were symptom free at 5 months-2 years tollow up.
