Surgical Treatment of Bilateral Carotid Body Tumor

Abstract
A patients with bilateral carotid body tumor underwent two stage operation was presented. Diagnosis is based on bilateral selective carotid angiography. On the right side resection was easy but on the left side internal carotid artery and hypoglossal nerve was resected together with tumor and a reversed saphein vein graft was used ta allow the con tunuity of internal carotid artery. Hypoglossal nerve reconstruction was made by a neurosurgeon.
