Results of Surgical Management of Renovascu/er Hypertension

Abstract
The effect of the renal artery surgery on hypertension in renovascular hypertension has been res earc he d. Renal ar tery surgery was performed on 11 mala and 1 male of total 12 patients aged 24-70 between the dates February 1985 February 1994. Aorto left renal saphenous vein bypass on 7, aorto right renal saphenous vein bypass on 3, thrombec tomy and saphanous veni patch angioplasty to the right renal artery on 1, angioplasty to the left renal artery and ao rt, right renal artery saphenous vein bypass on 1 patient were performed. Ethiological factors were atherosc le ros in 8 pa tients, fibromusculer dis plas ia in 3 patients and thrombosis in 1 patients. Additional pocedures were concomitantly per formed on 9 of total 12 patie nts. The postoperative follow-up period was between 6-62 months. 8 patients did not neec any antihypertansive treatment. Antihypertansive treatment was continued in 3 patients. Postoperatively mortality ratı was 8.3 % with 1 case . Asa res ult, believe the arterial revascu la rizatio n of kidney is an effective treatment method.
