This paper argues that social democracy is facing a structural crisis not only in Turkey but also in the international context. For this reason, as it is elaborated throughtout this paper, any attempt to reconstruct social democratic politics both ideologically and organizationally should discuss the question of crisis by taking into account the international context, that is, by focusing on the changing parameters of the state/society relations. In this paper, we aim to introduce a set of parameters which we take as of significance in understanding of the crisis of social democracy in Turkey, as well as in reconstructing social democratic politics capable of responding effectively both the problems of Turkish politics and the various demands voiced by different identities.
