The rapid growth of electrical and electronic waste (e-waste), a global environmental hazard, poses a serious threat to human health due to improper management. To investigate the elemental and physico-chemical parameters of soil and water in the Odongunyan electronics dumpsite in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria, five soil and water samples were collected. The analysis involved using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) for elemental analysis, and a Horiba water checker for physicochemical assessment of both soil and water samples obtained from the study area. The water samples from the research area exhibited good physico-chemical quality, with a water quality index of 7.791. The heavy metal pollution index score was 19.114, indicating that the research area was contaminated on average, with cadmium (Cd) being the main pollutant as evidenced by the soil samples' geochemical results, which showed a contamination factor of 9.733 and a geo-accumulation index of 3.283. The investigation revealed alarming levels of heavy metal contamination in soil and water around the Odongunyan dumpsite, rendering it unfit for human habitation. Residents are advised to drill deeper wells to the aquifer level or seek government assistance for the remediation of cadmium.
