In general, the years between 1929-1939 could be labelled as the terms in which the etatist policy was accepted and also strongly deliberated as one of the main policies of new Turkish Republic. The main question in the article could be whether the year 1937 was the turning point to leave the etatist policies althoug it was contained by 1924 Constitution of Turkey. In this respect, more precisely, the position of the etatist policy will be analyzed in the 1930s in general as well as in the main political, economic and social events reflected by two main newspapers in Turkey, Vakit and Akşam in the year 1937.
