Abstract: Histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis (HNL) also known as Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD), is a rare, self-limiting disease without specific etiology that has a higher prevalence in Japan and other Asian countries. It mainly affects young female and usually presenting as cervical lymphadenopathy and fever. Herein, we report a case of KFD who presented with cervical lymphadenitis and unexplained fever was ultimately diagnosed with KFD based on results of lymph-node biopsy showing compatible histological findings. Our patient was treated successfully with dexamethasone and her symptoms improved markedly. To conclude, KFD may mimic the presentation characteristic of lymphoma. For this reason, we reported on this patient to improve diagnostic awareness of this condition among physicians to avoid aggressive and unnecessary treatment.
