Background: Tinnitus is commonly seen worldwide and affects the psychological condition and quality life of people. In this study, we aimed to eliminate the complaints of tinnitus and related psychiatric disorders.
Method: Newly diagnosed 30 patients with tinnitus were included in the study. We applied a new solution to all patients for treatment. Before and after the treatment, the patients were asked to complete the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). We compared pre- and post-treatment BDI scores and THI grades of the patients.
Results: Post-treatment BDI scores of the patients were significantly lower than pre-treatment ones. Post-treatment THI grades of the patients were meaningfully lower than pre-treatment ones. The results showed that the severity of tinnitus and depressive symptoms decreased statistically and clinically after our treatment.
Conclusion: This new method may be superior to other interventions for treating tinnitus and related psychological problems.
