Rhinosinusitis is a common disease all over the world and costs very much on health care services. Acute rhinosinusitis is frequently caused by viruses and treated symptomatically. Diagnosis depends on the clinical and radiologic findings. Bacterial infection should be considered when the symptoms persist beyond ten days. Sinus puncture is the best way for obtaining sinus culture material. Surgical intervention should be reserved for complicating acute rhinosinusitis and chronic rhinosinusitis unresponsive to medical treatment. False diagnosis and treatments cause overuse of antibiotics.

Key Words: Rhinosinusitis, Child, Adult, Diagnosis, Treatment.
