Abstract

 

Aim:Although it is well-known that there is a negative correlation between the immun response and the cardiopulmonary

bypass, the relation between the cardiopulmonary bypass and the parasites is not well established. This subject was

evaluated on the basis of a case in this article.

Subject:The case was in the operation theater to undergo coronary surgery and did not have any symptoms associated

with Taneia saginata. During the anaesthetic induction it was observed that, the parasites, Taenia saginata, expelled from

the anus and the operation was postponed.

Result: Patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass, existence of parasites should be a contraindication for operation

because of their passible side-effects. The nutritional behaviors of our population should be evaluated on this basis.
