With regard to the accuracy, reliability, reproducibility and success of radiation therapy applications, it is of major
importance that the patients remain motionless during the applications, thus complying with the treatment that is
performed. For children under four years of age, anesthesiological approaches make significant contributions to the
success of radiation therapy applications. In this report, the radiation therapy application that has been performed at
the Department of Radiation Oncology at Inonu University Faculty of Medicine on a three year-old girl diagnosed
with Wilms’ tumor under intravenous sedation has been presented and the anesthesiological approaches for
radiation therapy applications in children has been reviewed.
