Abstract
To Investigate the role of beta hemolytic streptococci other than A group (BHSOTA) in etiology of pharyngitis, throat cultures were performed from 1500 patients with suspected pharyngitis and 100 healthy controls. Beta-hemolytic streptococci were grouped by using bacitrasin and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole disks, PYR test and group specific antisera.
