Abstract
To investigate the transmission of hepatitis B virus in family, we researched hepatit B markers in families of 82 chronic HBsAg carriers. The serums of 182 family members were searched with ELISA technique. We took a control group 75 people without any complaint and in an any risk group. In family members, HBsAg positivity was 16.5%, anti HBs positivity was 17.6%, and total sero-positivity was 34.1%, while in control group, HBsAg was 5.3%, anti HBs was 6.6%, and total sero-positivity was 11.9%.
