Abstract

 

Flow Cytometry (FC) is a technique that gives permission to measure several cellular features in a short time. FC has diagnostic and prognostic importance in oncology field. The measurement DNA content and proliferation activity is very easy with FC. In general aneuploid cell populations as well as diploid cell populations with a high proliferative component (S+ G2M) correlate with a more adverse prognosis in a number of malignancies. In this study the relationship between DNA content proliferation activity and prognosis on different cancer types are reviewed.
