Objectives: Head circumference is two standard deviation above the mean and physical and neurological examinations and motor development are normal in benign macrocephaly. Hydrocephalus, tumor, etc. should be exduded by cranial CT. The aim of this study has been to determine the incidence of psychiatric disorders in benign macrocephalic children and compare those with the findings from age and sex-matched normocephalic children. Methods: For this purpose, 7 to 12-year-old 33 benign macrocephalic and 30 normocephalic children were interviewed for detection of psychiatric disorders according to DSM-IV diagnostic criteria. Resu/ts: There was not any statistically significant difference between two groups of children. Condusion: Ne conduded that benign macrocephalic children ha ve s im Har profile of psychiatric disorders with normocephalic children.
