Abstract
Meningitis is the inflammation of the meninges, identified by an abnormal number of white blood cells in cerebrospinal fluid. The acute meningitis syndrome may be caused by a wide variety of infectious agents and may also be a manifestation of noninfectious diseases. Group G streptococcus is now recognized as a pathogen and has been reported to cause severe infections, including meningitis.
A 34-year-old male patient having parotid gland malignant mixed tumor with brain metastasis had chemotherapy and radiotherapy after surgical treatment. Group G streptococcal meningitis developed in this patient thereafter.
