Abstract
Our aim in this study is to evaluate the fasting and residual gall-bladder volumes and postprandial gall-bladder contractility in patients with cholelithiasis. We included 32 cases of cholelithiasis and 20 cases of control group without cholelithiasis in the study. The patients with cholelithiasis and the control group were evaluated by ultrasonography after 8 hours of fasting. In all of the cases, gall-bladder fasting and residual volume and postprandial ejection fraction values were recorded. Fasting gall-bladder and residual volume were found to be higher although the ejection fraction on the tenth minute was lower in patients with cholelithiasis than the control group. However, none of the parameter differences between the two groups had statistical significance.
