A modification of Hansson's histochemical technique was used for demonstration of carbonic anhydrase enzyme activity on kriostat sections of rat tongues. This enzyme was observed clear and dense on the apical part of the keratin layer of epithelium of tongue and on erythrocytes in the vessels. The findings of this study were compared with previous studies and interpreted in light of our results. [Journal ofTurgut Ozal Medical Center 2(2): 135-140,1995]
