Objective: To determine the hygienic assessment of the potential danger to humans of food products (sunflower and corn oils) treated with the insecticide Oberon Rapid 240 SC based on spiromesifen and abamectin consumption, considering the scientifically substantiated maximum allowable levels of active ingredients in these crops.
Methodology: We conducted field and laboratory experiments on the study of a new insecticide-Oberon Rapid 240 SC, KS when treating seed crops (sunflower, corn) with it. To calculate the residual amounts of spiromesifen and abamectin in the studied crops and assess their probable negative impact on the human body, with potential ingestion with contaminated food products, methods of field experiment, organoleptic, sanitary-chemical, chemical-analytical (high-performance liquid chromatography), statistical and bibliographic methods were used.
Results: An analysis of the physicochemical properties of the active ingredients of spiromesifen and abamectin; the content of insecticides in vegetative crops is determined; maximum permissible levels were justified of them in sunflower seeds and corn grains (spiromesifen-0.002 mg/kg, abamectin-0.01 mg/kg), in sunflower and corn oils (spiromesifen-0.05 mg/kg, abamectin-0.01 mg). Based on the calculation of the integral indicator of the danger of food consumption, to assign spiromesifen and abamectin to class 4/3 (lowly/moderately dangerous pesticides), respectively.
Conclusion: We determined the permissible levels of potential intake of the studied pesticides with food into the human body-their values are safe, provided that the processing rules and harvest times (30 days) are observed.
Key words: insecticides, maximum allowable level, contaminated food products, dangerous pesticides.
