We present a case of a 2 year 10 month old girl who presented with a growth at the left anterior third of the tongue which was gradually increasing in size. The lesion, thought to be a tongue granuloma was excised and turned out to be fetal rhabdomyoma. Another mass grew at the same site 2 months after the excision is done and site has healed. Excision of this recurrent lesion proved to be alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. Only one case of rhabdomyoma recurrence as rhabdomyosarcoma has been reported
