Vitamin D supplementation: Preventive and therapeutic implications in Diabetes mellitus

Diabetes is the leading causes of mortality and morbidity globally. Prevalence of diabetes has drastically increased over the past decade. Vitamin D supplementation has been shown to significantly improving the glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes. Increase uptake of vitamin D has been shown to remarkably reduce the deleterious complications associated with diabetes.
