Abstract

Background:
Brucellosis is considered one of the most common bacterial zoonotic diseases globally. This study was aimed to understand the level of knowledge and practice related to Brucellosis; its prevention, diagnosis, and treatment among the public population in Saudi Arabia.
Methodology: A cross-sectional survey was conducted involving a sample size of 1000 subjects. The participants answered questions to assess knowledge and practice regarding preventive and clinical part of brucellosis.
Results: The level of knowledge about brucellosis was inadequate among the public population in Saudi Arabia. The participant's level of knowledge was significantly associated with their gender and age. Regarding participants’ practice on brucellosis, it was found to be significantly associated with nationality and age.
Conclusion: The majority of participants were well-informed about brucellosis; its prevention, diagnosis, and treatment measures. Moreover, successful prevention of brucellosis requires additional training involving general practitioners.
