A STUDY TO ASSESS THE PREVALENCE OF POLYTHENE UTILIZATION IN
SARASWATHI NAGAR AT NELLORE

Abstract
The Polythene is low strength, hardness and rigidity and if feel waxy when touched. The chemical
properties of Polythene consist of non polar, saturated, high molecular weight hydrocarbons. There are
various environmental, social and health problems related to Polythene in India. Objective: To assess the
polythene utilization in saraswathinagar.Materials and methods:a quantitative research approach and non
experimental descriptive research design was used for the study.A non probability convenience sampling
technique was adopted for selecting the houses. The Number of houses for the study was 100 houses in
saraswathinagar to assess the polythene utilization.Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze
and interpret the data. Conclusion: The study concluded that majority of houses 63(63%)used .polythene
moderately. Key words:Knowledge, Polythene utiliztion.
