BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to determine relationship between submissive acts and self esteem among nursing students.
METHODS: This descriptive research has been performed with 322 nursing students in Akdeniz University, between February 2007-March 2007. Research data has derived by the questionnaire from that composed of two-parts. In the first part The Submissive Act Scale (SAS) and in the second part The Coopersmith Esteem Inventory (CSEI) has been used. The data analyzed by spearmans correlation analysis.
RESULTS: According to collected data; the students, who has participated to research 34.88 +-8.7 SAS average and 74.78 +/- 16.2 CSEI average has been established. 47 % of the students have SAS points more than average and 65 % of the students have high self esteem level is confirmed.
