Reproductive Health Problems of Married Women Continuining Post-Graduate Education and the Effecting Factors

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Research was carried out to determine the reproductive health problems of married women, who continue post-graduate education and who work as research assistants in institutes related Ege University and the factors which affect.
METHOD: The research was carried out descriptive and cross-sectional. The research includes women who continue postgraduate education and who work as research assistants (301) in institutes related to Ege University and sample of study compose married women (79) who accept this research. The research was carried out from November 2006 to February 2007. The data was collected through an inquiry, which was meant to determine the introductory characteristics of the women (24 questions), and through the Scale for Determining the Protective Attitudes of Married Women towards Reproductive Health.
RESULTS: As a result of research; 10.1% of women continue their postgraduate education, 89.9% of them continue their doctor¡¦s degree and 98.7% of them have a family. The average age of the women is 30.1„b3.7 age. The average total score point of determining the women¡¦s protective attitudes towards reproductive health is 156.0„b17.3 point.
