β-Carbonylamines were synthesized using the Mannich reaction. An aldehyde and an amine were condensed to form an imine compound,
followed by the addition of concentrated sulphuric acid and acetophenone. The resulting compounds were characterised by IR, 1H and 13C
NMR and mass spectroscopy
