Abstract | | | | Background: Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is an abnormal vascularization of the retinal vessels that occurs exclusively in preterm infants. It can lead to significant complications and affect patients and their families. This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice study about ROP among pediatricians in Buraidah, Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia.
Methodology: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in April 2021 among pediatricians in tertiary and secondary hospitals in Buraidah. Data were collected from 55 out of 106 pediatricians using a self-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire comprised basic demographic data and assessed the knowledge and attitude about ROP.
Results: Forty pediatricians were recruited. The most represented age group was 25-35 years (55%), with the majority being male (75%). The results indicated that half of the pediatricians had poor knowledge (50%), whereas the other half had good knowledge (50%).
