ASSESSMENTS OF ACCIDENTS AT WORK AND WORKPLACE VIOLENCE IN HEALTH CARE

Abstract
The notifications of occupational injuries and wporkplace violence were highly insufficient in health care sector. This article had been prepared as an review article by aims of to emphasize the issue and to put into agenda. The occupational injury statistics reported from Turkey to ILO was found insufficient 1300 times than expected ILO estimations. Data have been showed insufficient reporting of sharp injuries, according to a study, 60%of them has been not reported. In health care workers, every four type of violence have been reported, although most of them type II. In hospitals, occupational health and safety unit must be established. Occupational injuries notification system and written policy about work safety must be prepared. Reports of workplace injuries must be examined regularly and needed modification for prevention and institutional regulations put into practice.
